Education Committee  

The Education Committee's primary area of responsibility is to plan and organize MENAs annual conference. The conference is usually held in the spring of the year and offers a variety of topics related to emergency department nursing practice.

Government Affairs Committee

The Government Affairs Committee is responsible for monitoring both government and public policies, as well as current issues which affect emergency health care and relating this information to the membership of MENA.

Trauma Committee

The Trauma Committee is the over-sight committee for the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) for the state of Michigan. A major responsibility of this committee is to monitor quality issues related to TNCC courses, instructors and course directors in Michigan. In addition, the committee maintains a list of TNCC Instructors and Course Directors; educates and mentors new TNCC instructors; and serves as a resource for TNCC throughout the state.

At least 4 committee meetings are held annually and are generally held immediately prior to state council meetings.

Pediatric Committee

The Pediatric Committee is the over-sight committee for the Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) for the state of Michigan. A major responsibility of this committee is to monitor quality issues related to ENPC courses, instructors and course directors in Michigan. In addition, the committee maintains a list of ENPC Instructors and Course Directors; educates and mentors new ENPC instructors; and serves as a resource for ENPC throughout the state.

Membership Committee
The committee evaluates the membership databases received from National ENA on current members, new members and non-renewing members to develop strategies to retain members and attract new members. The committee is also responsible for coordinating the scholarship process and promoting emergency nursing to the Michigan Student Nurses Association.

Social Media Committee
The purpose of the social media committee is to support participation in online communities to promote better communication with Michigan ENA colleagues, members, vendors, the general public, traditional and non-traditional media, and other community stakeholders.

Quality, Safety, and Injury Prevention

Quality, Safety and Injury Prevention (QSIP) is a functional area within ENA that provides subject matter expertise and a concentrated focus on issues related to practice, quality, safety, injury prevention and wellness. The Institute may provide resources, develop programs, and lead projects that empower emergency nurses to integrate quality, safety, injury prevention, and wellness into their everyday practice and become leaders within their institutions and communities. Institute staff collaborate with local, regional and national organizations on topics and projects relevant to the specialty of emergency nursing. The Institute also provides oversight for the various awards that exemplify exceptional performance and innovative practices.


Foundation/Scholarships
The Foundation/Scholarships Committee is responsible for fundraising and scholarship allocation.
