    This message is being sent to you on behalf of Michelle Thorp, Membership Chair, and the Virginia ENA Membership Committee.

    The Membership Committee has been hard at work developing a pilot Ambassador Program designed to strengthen engagement, connection, and support across the Commonwealth. If you're passionate about emergency nursing, enjoy connecting people, and want to help strengthen our organization, we'd love for you to consider applying.

    Here's the skinny on the program (please review carefully):

    Virginia ENA Ambassador Program Program Overview:
    The Virginia ENA Ambassador Program is designed to increase membership, strengthen networking, and enhance information dissemination across the state. Ambassadors serve as liaisons between Virginia ENA leadership and local nursing communities, helping to foster engagement and professional growth.

    Ambassador Responsibilities:
    • Attend Meetings – Participate in no less than 4 Virginia ENA meetings (in-person or virtually) and attend at least 2 virtual Membership Committee meetings per 12-month calendar year. Attend Virginia ENA's Ambassador Orientation (virtually) held in January or have a one-on-one session with the membership chair within 1 month of accepting role.
    • Recruit New Members – Promote ENA membership within and around your facility.
    • Mentor New Members – Support and guide new ENA members, fostering professional development.
    • Disseminate Information – Share key updates, resources, and meeting discussions with local colleagues. Share how you are disseminating information with other Ambassadors.
    • Report out quarterly - Update VENA on membership recruitment methods/numbers as well as, share your successes, barriers, and needs. This will measure return on investment to see if the pilot can be transitioned.

    Incentives & Benefits:
    • Ambassadors will receive one "Virginia ENA Ambassador" short sleeve t-shirt.
    • If the Ambassador has fulfilled duties for the calendar year, they are eligible to submit a reimbursement form for 20% of their 1 year ENA Membership dues. This is a $23 off of the standard $115 1-year membership. *Ambassadors in other positions that are eligible for reimbursement for the Leadership and the National Conference (Chairs, Chair- Elects, Board) are not eligible for this reimbursement. Scholarships and Delegates not otherwise supported are eligible.
    • National Referral Program- Take advantage of ENA's new referral program to receive discounts on courses, manuals, and merchandise while providing the new member a 15% discount!
    • Professional Recognition – Acknowledgment within Virginia ENA for contributions to membership growth and advocacy.
    • Leadership & Networking Opportunities – Connect with ENA leaders, participate in statewide initiatives, and develop leadership skills.
    • Resume & Career Advancement – Strengthen professional credentials with demonstrated engagement in nursing advocacy and mentorship.
    • Application Points - Receive points on point-based application i.e.: Delegate application.

    Ambassador Position Description Position Title:
    Virginia ENA Ambassador

    Role Summary:
    Virginia ENA Ambassadors serve as liaisons between Virginia ENA leadership and local nursing communities, promoting engagement, membership growth, and professional development. Ambassadors help strengthen networking across the state by disseminating key information, recruiting new members, and mentoring fellow nurses and student nurses.

    Qualifications:
    • Current member of Virginia ENA
    • Passionate about emergency nursing, professional advocacy, and mentorship.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to network within healthcare communities.

    Commitment & Expectations:
    • Ambassadors are expected to remain active in their role throughout the calendar year.
    • Participate in Virginia ENA initiatives and uphold the program's mission to expand membership, strengthen networking, and support professional development.
    • Share how you are disseminating information within your facility with other Ambassadors and VENA's Membership Committee.
    • Ambassadors must inform the Virginia ENA President and Membership Chair if they are no longer working in the department they are assigned as an ambassador.
