The Government Affairs Committee is responsible for keeping up with current legislation and proposed National, State, and Local bills. They communicate with elected officials to lobby for legislation that is important to Emergency Nursing and our members.

2026 Committee Goals:
1. Obtain a minimum of 500 signatures on a petition in support of the aforementioned bills
increasing penalties on violent offenses
2. Connect with at least 2 coalition partners to help support legislative efforts of concern
for Emergency Nursing including topics such as workplace violence, gun advocacy, and
boarding in the ED.
