Bio

I have been an ED/Trauma Nurse since 1974. I joined ENA in 1981 and  serve at the local, state and national level since then. I was Texas ENA State President in 1990 and 2007 and was a member of the ENA Board of Directors from 2013-2017. I served on the ENA Foundation Board of Trustees from 2018-2022 and served as Foundation Chair in 2021.  I have a BSN and I am a CPEN and a Fellow in the Academy of Emergency Nursing. I retired as the Trauma Program Director at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas in 2017 and currently work as the Texas Voluntary Pediatric Recognition Program Coordinator and Hospital Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinator Liaison for the Texas EMS for Children State Partnership Grant. I am the project manager for a Texas ENA grant funded project called Texas Pediatric Readiness Improvement managing the work of 29 Regional Pediatric Emergency Care Coordinators working with Hospital ED's in Texas Trauma Centers to be pediatric ready.
