  • Ms. Gerri Muller, MSN, NP, CEN passed away peacefully

It is with great sadness we lost one of our beloved Michigan ENA members. Ms. Gerri Muller, MSN, NP, CEN passed away peacefully this past Monday and was surrounded by family.

Gerri was an iconic Emergency Nurse. She started out as a licensed practical nurse and became a registered nurse. Gerri became an advance nurse practitioner and worked as a clinical nurse specialist and nurse practitioner. Gerri spent over 40 years serving others as an emergency nurse.

Gerri was the former Michigan ENA President, State Faculty for TNCC and ENPC. She was awarded the Excellence in Emergency Nursing in 2008 and in 2016, she was honored with the Michigan Emergency Nurses Association Lifetime Achievement Award. Gerri was a part of many National ENA Committees such as the Annual Conference Committee, TNCC Review Committee, and Clinical Practice Guidelines.

Gerri spearheaded and was one of the founding members of Michigan ENA Annual Conference Committee. For many years, Gerri was the Conference Chairperson. Gerri had mentored and educated thousands of Emergency Nurses throughout Michigan and was seen as a subject matter expert. Plans will be forthcoming to celebrate Gerri’s life and her emergency nursing legacy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the causes that Gerri supported: St. Jude Children’s Hospital (http://stjude.org/ ); Main Line Animal Rescue (http://mlar.org/); or All About Animals Rescue Michigan (http://allaboutanimals.org/ ).
