The University of New England Advanced Nurse Education–Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program is pleased to announce the upcoming webinar, Unseen and Overlooked: Male Victims of Intimate Partner Violence in Forensic Nursing.
This free educational webinar will be held on October 20, 2026, from 3:00–5:00 PM EST via Zoom.
Intimate partner violence can affect individuals of all genders; however, male survivors are often under-identified, under-supported, and excluded from many broader conversations about victimization, safety, and access to care. This presentation will examine the experiences of male survivors of intimate partner violence, including barriers to disclosure, stigma, system-level challenges, and the role of healthcare professionals in providing trauma-informed, inclusive support.
Participants will explore how bias, assumptions, and gaps in services may impact survivor recognition and response. The session will also highlight opportunities for forensic nurses and other healthcare professionals to strengthen assessment, documentation, referral, advocacy, and survivor-centered care practices.
This webinar is intended for forensic nurses, healthcare professionals, advocates, and interdisciplinary partners who support individuals impacted by violence and trauma.
