  • Information on April CLO and State Council Meeting

    Hello, All.

As you all are aware, the CDC is recommending that large gatherings of people and traveling from home be kept to a minimum at this time due to the coronavirus. Many conferences, including AACN's NTI, have been cancelled. The FENA executive board has been monitoring the situation and staying in communication with each other. We have discussed either cancelling or postponing both the CLO and the state council meeting. Feeling we have a great deal of business to discuss and decisions to make that cannot wait until the July meeting, we have made the decision that the executive board will still meet in Delray Beach as planned. We trialed an intermediate board meeting with the Zoom platform at the end of January and it worked well. Our plan is to present the CLO as if we had attendees using Zoom on April 2, and conducting the board meeting on April 3 using Zoom.

I know that some people may have already made flight reservations that are nonrefundable. While we encourage our members to consider using social distancing to participate, we will not turn away anyone who chooses to attend in person. Hilton has agreed to no penalty for cancelled hotel reservations. I would ask that you respond to this email by letting us know your plan for the meeting. I will email and post the information and links for the Zoom meetings closer to the date, along with an agenda and copies of the minutes from the last meeting, and materials for those attending the CLO.

As much as we love the energy and camaraderie of group meetings, we feel we must set an example and protect ourselves, our families, and our members.
We will reschedule the Stop the Bleed certification for the July meeting.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you for all you are doing during this stressful time and stay safe,

    Penny Blake
    President, Florida ENA
