  • Call for Nominations FENA Secretary/Voting Instructions

    This is to notify you there is an ongoing call for nominees for the Florida State Council position of Secretary for 2023 - 2025. We currently have two candidates for this position. Following are the requirements for this position:

    Section 3. Qualifications
    Directors must be Voting Members in good standing in both National ENA and
    the State Council, (i) have attended at least two (2) ENA General Assembly
    within the previous five (5) years and (ii) have served in an elected or
    committee position on the local, state, or national level within the previous
    five (5) years.

    Section 3. Election & Term
    (A) The Voting Members shall elect the Officers at the Annual Meeting of
    Voting Members in accordance with such procedures as shall be
    established by the FENA State Council Board of Directors.
    (B) The Officers shall serve a two (2) year term in office, or until such time
    as their successors have been duly elected and qualified. The term of
    office for each Officer shall begin on the January 1 following his or her
    election and terminate on December 31 of the second year.

    Section 6. Duties of Office
    (C) Secretary
    The Secretary shall keep or cause to be kept the minutes of all meetings
    of the FENA State Council Board of Directors and Voting Members,
    shall see that all notices are duly given in accordance with the

    provisions of these bylaws or as required by law, shall be custodian of
    the corporate records, and shall perform all the duties incident to the
    office of Secretary and such other duties as from time to time may be
    assigned by the President or by the FENA State Council Board of
    Directors.

    These are the instructions for voting. All members of Florida Emergency Nurses Association are eligible to vote by following this process:

    Nominations for FENA State Council Board of Directors’ open positions will be open until the third quarter meeting.  Additions to the slate of candidates can be added as long as the requirements for the open position are verified.

    .           A ballot of candidates will be prepared and dispensed to all Voting Members of the FENA State Council attending the third quarter meeting.

    .           Marked ballots will be counted, results will be announced at the third quarter meeting, also designated as the Annual Meeting.

    .           Voting members of FENA State Council may cast their vote if attending the meeting by ZOOM.  These votes will not be anonymous.

    The third quarterly meeting will be held at Lake Nona Medical Center in Orlando, FL on July 22 from 1000 - 1500. There will be a virtual option. If you plan on attending in person, please rsvp to fl.immediatepastpresident@state.ena.org   If you require a Zoom link, please respond by letting me know that by July 19th.

    If you wish to be added to the ballot, or wish to nominate someone for the positions, please ensure they meet the qualifying requirements and send me an email.

    Currently, the two candidates for office are Cathy O'Neil, from the West Coast chapter and Christie Jandora from the Northwest Florida chapter.

    I encourage candidates to send me a CV and photos of themselves that can be posted to our web page and the Facebook page for membership to identify them.
