Hi Gwyneth, this is our hospital's trauma activation criteria. We're a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center in a dedicated children's hospital connected to an adult hospital. We see patients up to age 19 years, 364 days in our department, but some patients age 18+ end up being seen by Adult Surgery/Trauma. Let me know if you have any questions, thanks!

Subject: Resuscitation activation criteria
Our team is looking at creating defined criteria for when to activate a resuscitation in the peds ED to help build a shared mental model among staff.
We'd love to hear how other departments have approached this-specifically, what situations or patient presentations trigger a resuscitation activation in your ED. Do you use set physiologic parameters, specific clinical conditions (e.g., cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, trauma), or provider judgment?
Any examples, policies, or lessons learned would be greatly appreciated as we develop our framework.
Thanks!
