Good Morning,
I wanted to ask what are you practices for infants within 2 weeks of age presenting to the ED with jaundice? At our institution our workflow if for nurses to triage an ESI level 2, direct bed, begin phototherapy, and draw an H & H (per AAP newest recommendations). We are now questioning the practice of immediately starting the patient on phototherapy. Curious what other EDs are doing for this patient population.
