  • 1.  How Does Your ED Designate Roles in Codes and Traumas?

    Posted 7 days ago

How does your ED handle role designation during codes and traumas in the moment? We have badges with role names (like recorder, nurse left, airway), but they often get lost or don't get used. Curious what other EDs do to make it clear who's doing what role.

We use role stickers that are place on PPE gowns that clearly designate role.  Most staff wear yellow gowns.  Our MD and nurse team lead both wear white gowns to differentiate them.

We use pre-printed disposable labels that are the size of white shipping labels.  They are kept in clear plastic wall hanging bins outside the room and are placed on our yellow gowns.  It also attempts to help with crowd control because you shouldn't be in the room if you don't have a label sticker.
