Pediatric Community

I know we have Child Abuse Physicians, is there a thing for Child Abuse Nurses? Similar to that of a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner?

We utilize forensic trained nurses in our emergency department.  They work with sexual assault victims as well as victims of abuse.  They take pictures and document findings that can later be used in court.

Hi Julie,

Many pediatric hospitals I have worked at have had an APRN role within their Child Protection Team. I do not know of any certifications though.
