How off would be using the 2019 Broselow tape until the new updated one is available?

As of my last check, the manufacturer of the Broselow tape has issued a notice of the error, but does not plan on a second recall.  Upon examining our tapes, we found that the weight-based dosing for flumazenil was correct, despite the incorrect formula.  In an effort not lose the other updates, my hospital chose to alter (damage) the tape where it shows the formula to prevent miscalculations.  This is not likely the best solution, but until a corrected version is available to purchase, it is the route my CAH chose to take.

Hello,

I received an email from an educator in my facility stating that Air Life has officially recalled the tape. Has anyone else gotten any correspondence regarding this?

Hi Lisa,

We recently had a JCAHO visit, and they actually brought up the Broselow tape, suggesting that we keep the 2019 version until all corrections are made to the new edition.
