Hello all,
I am wondering if you can provide me with your current practice/policy for when you're assessing fetal heart tones. Currently the hospital I work at does not have a policy in place that specifies when this should be done. After discussing with the L&D team they would like patients 20 weeks or greater to have fetal heart tones assessed as that is when a fetus may be viable. At my previous hospital we assessed FHT on all pregnant patients who were 12 weeks or greater. What is best practice? I appreciate all insight here.
