Hello all. 10 year ER nurse here. By default (life circumstances, demeanor, etc) I tend to get patients who have come in regarding sexual assault. Emotionally- I am okay with it, I can handle it. Been there, understand the flood of emotions- so I guess I can better guard and protect them through the questioning and such as well as being able to advocate for the patient regarding what they want to do regarding the assault.
Now, I wanna step up my game. I would love to get SANE certified (A and P)....but man, it's hard figuring out what is required and where to go to do it! I feel like the forensics association is very cloak and dagger...
Anyone in Cali with the certification know about how to go through this? From what I understand there is 40 classroom hours (have found that in abundance online....seems like everyone wants the money for that)....but trying to find where to do the clinical requirement is a bit murky.
