2020 Virginia ENA Awards:The Virginia Emergency Nurses Association honors outstanding individuals by recognizing achievements and contributions to Emergency Nursing through a nominations and selection process. The Scholarship & Awards committee would like to invite you to nominate a colleague or yourself for one of the following awards:
Nurse Advocate AwardIndividuals achieving this award exemplify Emergency Nursing through community service, significant contributions to the profession, and advocate emergency nursing in the hospital, community, state, and nation.
Nomination criteria for this award include:
• Performance beyond job requirements to promote ENA
• Role model and mentor
• Demonstrates a high level of expertise
• Current ENA member
• Two letters of support
• Has made contributions that affect the profession with the community, hospital, and peers
Clinical Expertise AwardIndividuals achieving this award are recognized for outstanding nursing practice above and beyond demonstrated clinical skills, compassion and care in delivering quality patient outcomes.
Nomination criteria for this award include:
• Demonstrates performance beyond job requirements in rendering patient care
• Demonstrates participation in nursing programs, committees, or projects that contribute to emergency practice
• Current ENA member
• Two letters of support
Bob Shumate Memorial Scholarship AwardThis award recognizes the spouse or significant other of a member who promotes and supports ENA by "going the extra mile". The recipient of this award receives $100.00 to defray the cost of attending an ENA State function.
Nomination criteria for this award include:
• Spouse and/or significant other of an ENA member willing to help with State ENA activities.
• The nominee must not be an ENA member, but the spouse/significant other of an ENA member.
VENA Sponsorship AwardThis award recognizes a group, company, or individual who has shown outstanding support for the Emergency Nurses Association. The recipient will be honored with a plaque of recognition.
Nomination criteria for this award include:
• Supported VENA functions either by financial aid or with gifts.
• Supported membership drives and/or giving of their time to help VENA.
To nominate: Submit a brief narrative stating the achievements qualifying the nominee for the award category. Include the name, workplace, and home/work address of the nominee and include your name and phone number with the submission.
