Presenter Bio
Sam is a critical care flight paramedic originally from Pennsylvania but currently resides in northern Minnesota. Having started his EMS career in 2009, he's gained prehospital medical experience in various settings from urban streets, specialty critical care, aeromedical to wilderness EMS and overseas contracts. He has studied Extreme Medicine through the University of Exeter, UK, and is the founder of Mind Over Medic where he teaches HumanFactors to medical professionals.

Tyler is currently employed with HSHS working in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls as the Trauma Coordinator. He teaches TNCC and PHTLS. He is the Government Affairs Co-Chair for the Wisconsin ENA. On his time off he enjoys camping, hiking, and spending time with his wife and dogs.

Dr. Ethan Young is a double board-certified EMS physician from Eau Claire, WI. He is the medical director of several regional EMS agencies. He also works as a flight physician with the University of Wisconsin Med Flight. His medical interests include resuscitation and emergency cardiology.

Dr. Craig Tschautscher MD, MS, DRTM (RCSEd), is a Flight Physician with UW Med Flight, as well as an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine, Division of Prehospital Medicine, BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He is extremely passionate about high quality prehospital care, especially in the area of retrieval and transfer medicine. He has completed fellowships in EMS, Prehospital Research, and Aeromedical Transport, has earned his Diploma in Retrieval and Transport Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, as well as being dual boarded in Emergency Medicine and EMS.

Melissa Abts, RN, BSN is the sepsis coordinator at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. She focuses on sepsis management and clinical sepsis education, while also acting as support for the six regional critical access hospitals in the GHS system.
John Mink, MSN, RN-CEN, TCRN is the nurse practice specialist for the Bellin Health Emergency Services department. He also acts as the trauma coordinator and sits on Bellin's sepsis team.
