Description:

The purpose of the Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) is to improve trauma patient outcomes by providing nurses with foundational trauma knowledge, skills, and a systematic Trauma Nursing Process to guide trauma patient care. After taking TNCC, nurses will be able to systematically assess a trauma patient, to intervene and/or assist with interventions, and to provide evidence-based trauma nursing care within the context of a trauma team. This work group will author the 9th edition TNCC provider manual. A complete draft of the chapters is due April 15, 2022. Authors will identify testable content and develop exam items. This work group will also collaborate with the pre-course module and classroom work groups to develop a cohesive 9th edition TNCC. The volunteer requirement includes a 2-year commitment with monthly conference calls and substantial independent work.
