This award is open to an emergency nurse for less than 5 years.

The Emergency Nurses EMS Award of Excellence recognizes an outstanding emergency medical services (EMS) professional who has demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and leadership in the pre-hospital care setting. This award honors an EMS provider who consistently exemplifies the highest standards of patient care, teamwork, and collaboration with emergency nurses and other healthcare professionals. Nominees for this award have shown outstanding clinical judgment, compassion, and the ability to manage complex, high-pressure situations in the field, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. This award is open to any Prehospital personnel.

This Award is open to any support staff including patient care technicians and secretaries. 

The Emergency Nurse Physician of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding physician who has demonstrated exceptional collaboration, leadership, and dedication in working alongside emergency nurses to provide the highest quality of care in the emergency department. This award honors a physician who exemplifies the spirit of teamwork, respect, and mutual support, fostering a positive and efficient environment for both staff and patients. Nominees for this award show a commitment to advancing patient outcomes through effective communication, clinical expertise, and a deep understanding of the vital role that emergency nurses play in the healthcare team. The Emergency Nurse Physician of the Year is someone who goes above and beyond to promote excellence in care, demonstrate compassion, and strengthen the partnership between emergency nurses and physicians for the benefit of all patients.

The Emergency Nurses APC (Advanced Practice Clinician) of the Year Award recognizes an exceptional advanced practice clinician who has demonstrated outstanding skill, leadership, and commitment to advancing patient care in the emergency department. This award honors an APC, such as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, who consistently provides high-quality, compassionate care while working collaboratively with nursing and medical teams in the fast-paced emergency setting. Nominees for this award exhibit clinical excellence, effective communication, and a deep understanding of emergency care practices. They are leaders in their field, advocating for both patients and the healthcare team, while continuously seeking ways to improve processes and outcomes. The APC of the Year is a dedicated professional who plays a critical role in the delivery of emergency care, supporting the overall success and efficiency of the emergency department.

2025 Awards Committee

The awards committee manages the Nurse and Nurse Leader of the Year award, including maintaining the submission forms, scoring using the Rubric, and presenting the annual awards to the nominations and winners.  

The committee is also responsible for encouraging submissions to national awards submitting nominees for other awards as needed.
