  • 1.  EMS Drug replacement

    We are looking at changing our drug replacement process and I am looking for information on others current practices.

    -Do nurses waste EMS narcotics when full dose not administered?

    -Do you do 1:1 replacement, or exclusively drug box replacement?

    -Are wastes documented on paper or in Omnicell for EMS narcs?

    -Does anyone have sample contracts/agreements they are willing to share?

    Our EMS does have us sign their waste sheet if there is a single paramedic. They restock from a separate cabinet supply that is completely managed by pharmacy and does not take up resources in our Pyxis.
