In 30 years I have seen one emergency crichothyrotomy and we secured it with an ETT. We have hundreds of dollars of trach tubes in our crash carts expiring. I am leaning towards not replacing them. It seems like an ETT works fine until you can get a trach tube from the OR where they are less likely to expire before being used. Is anyone else stocking multiple trach tube sizes on all crash carts?
