  • 1.  Buzzy for pediatric needle sticks

    Is any ED utilizing the Buzzy drug free pain relief device for pediatric needle sticks (IM or IV)? I would like feedback from someone already using it before I present the idea to my director.

    ​We have two of the devices in our ER.  We have had it for probably two years. I am one of the main nurses on my shift that stick pediatrics and I have not used it.  I think it could be used great with IM injections for distraction but I haven't heard my other nurses using it either.  It's a great idea. Any children hospitals using it and recommend?  I have asked some of my children hospital nurses on their technique and they said they have child-life specialist that "do all the tricks."
