I have been involved in some aspect of emergency services since, gulp, 1987! I began as an EMT, became a Paramedic, and began to fly for the rotor wing service in 1994. I obtained my nursing degree in 1998, continued to fly, and eventually moved to the NICU for several years. I returned to the ED as an ED Nurse/Educator, and obtained by APRN certification in 2014. I moved to Pediatric Surgery but stayed in the ED as an APRN prn. In 2022, I moved to a full time position with our General & Trauma Services Program as an APRN, but still work some ED prn shifts. I have been teaching emergency topics for local EMS, flight, and ER, and have presented for several years on the national level.
